What is the exam like and how can you best prepare for it? We will try to give you an idea.
During the theoretical helicopter pilot course, a number of topics related to the following subjects are discussed:
- Aviation law and air traffic control procedures
- Human performance – capabilities and limitations
- Meteorology
- Communications
- Principles of flight
- Operational procedures
- Flight execution and planning
- Helicopter general knowledge
- Navigation
Examinations take place at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) during a computer-based examination session, for which we can book in advance via the website https://app.ulc.gov.pl/. . PPL (H) examinations are held in Polish based on the National Question Bank. The computer-based session usually lasts 9 days per month. The current session schedule can be found on the ULC website and on the LKE notice board. All questions have four answers a b c d , only one of which is correct. You must answer at least 75% of the questions asked correctly. Each subject can only be taken once in one session. If you fail the examination in a subject, you may not take it again until the next session. You may take the examination in each subject 4 times. From taking the first examination, you have 18 months to pass the examinations in all subjects. The following website is the best place to study www.awiacja.edu.pl, where you can find sample questions and answers that you will encounter on your ULC exam. Of course, it is also a good idea to take the time to learn from the material our instructors will give us during training, and to deepen our knowledge with additional specialist literature such as the Helicopter Flying Handbook, which is available at the link.
